CT Lesson 49 - what is revengeful in Tagalog

Revenge is like a cancer. Once it permeates a good cell, it will eventually kill other cells and the body itself.

Higanti is the root word of mapaghiganti, ma-pag-hi-gan-ti

CT Lesson 35 - How to say I am angry in Tagalog

I've created a poll asking my facebook contacts; to whom are you getting mad most often?

- to wrong people
- when you've done wrong
- to wrong situation

it's a small count that gains

2 votes for wrong people
1 vote when you've done wrong
0 vote for wrong situation.

Somebody talk back at you, and you knew what they are doing because you hear them clearly. Suddenly their accusation consume your day and it left you depressed. A feeling of revenge and patience sink in. You knew from their attitude that you'll clash once confrontation happen. But the feeling of guilt to defend your

CT Lesson 34 - How to say I am having fun in Tagalog

When we were younger, we have a chasing game called "Mata-mataya". First you'll start the game with "maiba taya" or the different hand after revealing, either upward or downward, will be the "taya". Taya is the who'll chase after the contestants. And if he outran the enemy, he'll tag him and shout "Taya". Now the new "Taya" will be the next chaser of all then the running is on again. All contestants who must probably on a sight  ranged is informed whose the "Taya" after the shout. So this is a fun game and you'll never notice the time. You can start early in the morning and end up by your parents call to eat lunch. We have different Filipino games on '90s like tumbang preso, agawang base, tom sawyer, saronggola (kite), trumpo (top), teks, tamiya, and more. But because of modernization Filipino children today are

CT Lesson 33 - How to say I am excited in Tagalog

Well, I'm looking forward for this.
What are things that excite you? Is it a new galaxy S3 or Iphone 5 or Windows 8 or Macbook? Will it be a 40 inch HD flat screen with home theater inclusive? A trip out of town would be on the list, spending few weeks on a white sand beach with a hotel room checked on the 20th floor where a picture perfect sunrise is catered with the ocean. Will it be exciting to embrace your loved one who just arrived at the airport after a year of e-communication?

CT Lesson 32 - How to say I am afraid in Tagalog

I believe that how we bring up a child will affect their whole life in the long run. Have you been spanked before? I was an active and playful and mostly mischievous as a child. I remember after we got home from school on normal weekdays, we would play with our cousins. But our auntie insists that we must sleep at noon for siesta time. She would hit us with hanger or slippers or stick if we go out and play. But that's my desire, to play toys and enjoy noon since I was complete awake. So I would sneak out, opening the door as quiet as I can, then run at my cousin's house. But most of the time I was caught and suffer spanking. As a child what I only understand is ''toys'', I didn't saw that siesta time would help me. But my aunt never sat down to explain it to us. As a result I grew lacking of self-confidence on High School. Until now I fear to speak my mind because of spanking, which when I reasoned back was thought disrespectful and rebellion.

But when I experienced True Love, there I overcame fear because there's no fear in Love. And this kind of love motivated me to excel because a wrong is confronted justly. There is no more painful punishment behind  a mistake but brokenness and grace. That's the Love of God. We are not treated as slaves but disciplined as a son.

So to say I am afraid it is,

    I    am    afraid
(Ako) + (natatakot)

Ako natatakot is not a complete sentence in Tagalog. So to fix the sentence we add "ay" after ako. Now we have; Ako ay natatakot or Natatakot ako.

Of course guardians' role is to guard but we must consider the child's emotion as well. Here's how love is spoken in Tagalog at Lesson 4.

CT Lesson 31 - How to say I am confused in Tagalog

Have you had a complex Math problem, and wander why Mathematics was invented anyway? That's our old school joke on High School. Can 3.14 buy a candy? If you're riding a jeep will you say "Please stop 45 degree south at (30,45). Or x sub 2 minus x sub 1 equals 5 plus my grocery? Of course we wouldn't say that, shall we?

But more than mind bugling formulas, Math helps to mold our logic and character? How? Because we overcome our childishness to go tantrums after a disappointment and resolve to try answering again. We learn to cope up with our mistake and study what-went-wrong and how to solve it better next time. But still I'm cool with algebras but not the complex ones.

Here's how to say I am confused.

    I    am  confused
(Ako)  +  (nalilito)

Nalilito comes from the root word lito or confuse. Please stop at 45 degree south? Don't we have here GPS or a tracking device? Here what to do when riding a jeep at Lesson 6.
